Definitions
Here are two key words that are needed to know in order to understand what writing for digital media is and how it works within the writing and rhetoric major at Oakland University. These definitions are coming from books read in the course of WRT 2070 Writing for Digital Media at Oakland University.
Digital Media:
Writing:
“The digital then, both as a new form of production enabled by information and communication technologies and as a reference to the human history of written communication, provides a bridge between textual production and rhetoric.”
(Eyman, Digital Rhetoric: Theory, Method, Practice, Digital Culture Books)
For example, using blogs to convey written communication, it is part of digital media writing
“describe any action that produces a text” (Morey,Ch.1, Digital Writer)
Ranging from typing, writing physically, or anything that produces some type of wording to be communicated to others

Using the major of writing and rhetoric I can use different digital media platforms and writing to get a message across to many different people.

Plus, using some of the rhetorical devices to help get the message across
